Fort Bliss Soldiers Endure Obama’s Speech In Silence.

It's stories like this one from The Daily Caller that makes my heart sing!
Confirming That Silence IS Golden!
President Barack Obama was greeted with fleeting applause and extended periods of silence as he offered profuse praise to soldiers and their families during an Aug. 31 speech in Fort Bliss, Texas.
His praise for the soldiers -- and for his own national-security policies -- won cheers from only a small proportion of the soldiers and families in the cavernous aircraft-hangar. ...

...his declaration that “around the world there’s a new attitude toward America, a new confidence in our leadership” yielded only silence ...The silence deepened when the president lauded his strategy of withdrawal from the war. “Make no mistake, ending the wars responsibly makes us safer and our military even stronger, and ending these wars is letting us do something else; restoring American leadership,” he said amid complete silence.
... Obama and his wife are also trying to reach out to military families in several critical swing-states, including Virginia and Florida. ...
That outreach, however, has been damaged by repeated flubs from the White House, including its public emphasis on soldiers’ wounds rather than on their accomplishments, and Obama’s effort to distance himself from the anti-jihad campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
For example, Obama gave Vice President Joe Biden the task of developing a post-war agreement with Iraq’s government in 2009. The effort failed, reducing U.S. gains from the campaign that killed almost 4,500 troops, and as well as thousands of jihadis and Sunni insurgents seeking to regain power. The subsequent withdrawal of nearly all U..S. troops has allowed Iran to increase its influence in Iraq. In turn, that influence helps it support Syria’s dictatorship against Sunni insurgents.
White House officials are trying to avoid additional flubs. On Friday, for example, White House officials rushed to debunk a report that the president had used an autopen to sign condolence letters to soldiers’ families. ...
There was no reaction when he promised stepped-up recruitment of soldiers for police jobs. ...
It just doesn't get any better than this:
The audience’s reaction was so flat that the president tried twice to elicit a reaction from the crowd.
“Hey, I hear you,” he said amid silence. ...
The troops’ silence continued through several obvious applause-lines. ...
The White House’s video-feed cut off 10 seconds after the president finished his speech, before the audience’s reaction overall could be gauged by viewers.
CNN and MSNBC ended their coverage of the speech before it was half-over. ...
As the old saying goes, "Give 'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves." Yep, I like that picture -- tall trees and short ropes.

Here's a little extra kick from my Marine Corps! The title calls it "Different Presidents, A Different Corps." I prefer to think of it as "Different Presidents, The Same Corps."

  1. I'll bet that our Fraud-in-Chief would just love to disenfranchise this entire electorate. If not it's because his insatiable ego has inhibited his ability to comprehend the reality of this. Something tells me that even "Herbie" wouldn't vote for him!

  2. Barack Obama is a fraud; he’s no leader. Yes, it is true that the American people elected this ham sandwich, but I cannot think of a single thing he has done to make America a stronger, better, safer place to live; not one. But here is what he did do … he revealed to us the miserable leadership at the top of our Armed Forces structure; sycophants who’ve been in place for a while now: Rodriguez, Jones, Mullen, Dempsey, Petraeus … people who have forgotten that they are military leaders, not political suck ups. Remember Major General John Singlaub, who had the courage and fortitude to tell Carter the truth, even knowing it would cost him his job? Where are our American generals and admirals—men with the courage to say, “There won’t be any faggots in the bleeping American military!”

    1. And Petraeus was right there in the top of the batting order saying that it wouldn't hurt the services at all to repeal the DADT -- and that it was time and need to be done. He made me want to gag.

  3. The fact is, you can’t bullshit the troops. They know when you’re full of it. They know what true leadership is. They know the difference between talking, and walking. So many times I’ve thought, “Americans don’t deserve the men and women who are willing to give up their lives for their country.” And by the way, those troops who are sitting respectfully silent in the background, those are the same young people who Janet Ruglicker thinks are potential right-wing extremists. I so hate politicians.

  4. DADT repeal:

Yes, even the Draft Dodger-in-Chief knew better!

  5. You can't bullshit the troops?

Then why are these fools still re-upping for Afghanistan?

    1. 'Cause the money's so good?

In reality, if anyone has wasted their time to read you bio page (like I have,) they'd find that you couldn't have a clue. Not one blessed clue.

  8. "Then why are these fools still re-upping for Afghanistan?"

That's about as low as anything that I've seen! But what can one expect from someone who calls himself "Ducky"? I guess that means a life support system for a "quack"!

  9. "lower than whale shit,"

Yes, in the most classic sense! Back in the day we would be talking about 4-F or, at best, a Section 8!

    1. Definitely 4-F, JB.
And we're certainly not talking the male branch of ANY service.
She couldn't cut it in the WAVES or Women Marines. Those ladies would have Ducky's pantyhose in so many knots, she'd never get 'em undone. Ducky wouldn't make it to the first morning roll call before they'd have her under the next bus to Michael Jackson's Wonderland... or, wherever she calls home.

  10. Ducky, how DARE you call servicemen "FOOLS"...they have DIED FOR YOU and your socialist hopes......really, you've been low before but this is maybe the lowest (after your comment at my blog about wishing Breitbart was in a body bag a year ago, come to think of it)

Marine, as I watched that video, I knew a leftwinger would come and suggest the soldiers are brainwashed.
I can't stand Petraeus... when a leader sides with muslim extremists regarding the koran in a war against muslim extremists, you KNOW we have the wrong guys in charge. And I'd been such a fan of his before that.

    1. Aww, I wouldn't take her/him too seriously, Z. I mean, when someone is hermaphroditic, they're bound to have problems. Out of curiosity, a long time ago, I read her bio and it took me a couple of hours to get all the pixie dust vacuumed outta my computer.

On my site, I just let him/her/it run off at the mouth for awhile so that I can keep my 'Up Your Ass' comments up to speed... plus, it gives JonBerg something to do. When I see that it's starting to slow down on our end, I'll get the last round off and just start deleting her crap.

      Ain't life grand?!
