Ask Harry Reid About Chinese Solar Panels.

I’m going to take the day off from bashing Obimbo. Yeah, it’s a hard thing to do, but I’m going to let Todd Cefaratti of The Tea Party.Net bash the second best person that I take great pleasure in despising... Harry Reid. Actually, it’s a close tie between Reid and Pelosi, but Reid’s got it today.

OK, the uniforms the US Olympic Team will be wearing in the London Games were made in China. They were not paid for with tax dollars but instead by Ralph Lauren who designed them and had them produced in one of his factories. It would have been nice to have them made here but thanks to overreaching unions, America really does not have much of a garment industry left. 

In an obvious pandering play to the union powers, Harry Reid was “outraged” by such a travesty. “The USOC should be embarrassed, they should be humiliated. ... Our athletes should not wear clothes manufactured in China.” He went on to say, “they should be placed in a pile and burned”. 

Forget for a moment how you feel about the uniform issue itself and consider Reid’s record on foreign manufacturing.  

Fact 1. The government gave now bankrupt solar panel manufacturer, Solyndra, nearly half a billion dollars for nothing. 

Fact 2. When Harry Reid pushed through funding and sweetheart land deals for a huge solar power generating facility near his home town in Nevada, the solar panels were purchased from his good friend, and Chinese manufacturing billionaire, Wang Yusuo. You guessed it, the panels installed in Nevada were made in China! 

I am sure it is a mere coincidence that Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, is employed as a lobbyist for the solar venture!

No need to thank me, folks. My duty and I saw it. I KNEW the lamestream media wouldn’t touch a story like this.

Lt. Col. West Tells Obama, Reid And Pelosi Where To Go!

At a Lincoln Day Dinner in West Palm Beach, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Rep. Allen West said what I’ve been thinking for a long time:

“We need to let President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and my dear friend the chairman of the Democrat National Committee, we need to let them know that Florida ain’t on the table. Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America!”

The above quote starts at marker 10:20, but the whole speech is outstanding. 



On another note, at marker 9:17, Rep. West begins talking about the cutbacks in military. Frankly, I’m all for cutting back on the Marine Corps (maybe not to WWI levels as Rep. West mentions, though!) I mean, what else is new? Improvise, Adapt, Overcome. We’ve been doing that for a loooong time. By cutting back on the Marine Corps, I believe we’ve guaranteed our survival. The United States doesn’t need, and won’t have, TWO armies. 

The Marine Corps NEEDS to go back to our original task of being an Expeditionary Force. Leave the winning of hearts and minds and the building of schools and libraries to someone else. 

The Marine Corps NEEDS to go back to being lean, mean and green... kicking ass and NOT taking names.

The Marine Corps NEEDS to be able to turn it over to the Army, getting the hell out and going on to the next target.

The Marine Corps NEEDS to go back to being Mother Green.

Tax Fraud Suspected in Obama Land Deal 

The “buffer zone” parcel at the Obama family mansion in Chicago’s upscale Kenwood neighborhood purchased by the wife of convicted felon Tony Rezko was transferred to Barack and Michelle Obama without ever being assessed or taxed, in apparent violation of Illinois law, according to a debt-collection expert.

“The Cook County Assessor’s Office told me that there is no record of any tax assessment having been done on this transfer of the buffer zone property into a Northern Trust Co. Deed in Trust,” Albert Hendershot told WND.

Hendershot, president and owner of Innovative Portfolio Recovery Inc, a debt collection and skip tracing company based in Birmingham, Ala., noted the buffer zone “does not have an address attached to it, which is probably how the assessment and tax were avoided.”

Harry Reid Expects Tea Party to Fade Away 

Can Harry Reid wait out the Tea Party? 

The Senate majority leader seems to think so. 

Reid sat down with more than 30 Review-Journal staffers Friday afternoon for an hour-long Q&A session at the newspaper’s offices. The bulk of the back and forth was dedicated to federal spending and how Congress might tame exploding budget deficits.

Reid blamed everything that ails Washington and the nation on Republicans. He slammed the GOP for its refusal to go along with tax increases as part of this month’s debt-ceiling deal, saying hard-core fiscal conservatives are making it impossible to strike a long-term deal that slows the growth of the national debt. 

“(Senate Minority Leader) Mitch McConnell has done a good job bringing the country to a standstill,” Reid said.

Mercifully, no one on the Review-Journal staff asked Reid about green energy.

Obama Hits 39%, But Worst May Still Lie Ahead 

There it was: 39 percent. Floor broke. Threshold crossed. The close of Barack Obama’s awful week. One more awful August. On Sunday, for the first time of his presidency, Obama’s public approval rating dipped below 40 percent in the Gallup Poll. 

Now polls are like life. The older one becomes, the less remarkable the ebbs and flows become. Or the longer the trend line, the smaller the blips seem. But some poll numbers capture more. Gallup has an innate symbolism. As gold standards do. And 39 percent is emblematic of that oldest incumbent problem: selling hard times.

The poll bookends an historically bad week. The atmospherics presidents dread. There is the mercurial stock market, trending more down than up. Last week, consumer sentiment hit its lowest point since the dusk of Jimmy Carter’s presidency.
