Now I've REALLY Got This Sinking Sensation.

Maybe I won't be so enthralled to lend my tactical support to the Children of God after all.
From Newsmax.com: Jews Sticking With Obama, Sabato Website: Jews Won’t Abandon Obama in 2012
President Barack Obama’s recent speech calling on Israel to accept the country’s 1967 borders as a starting point for talks with the Palestinians has raised speculation that Jewish voters could turn against Obama and the Democrats in 2012.
But such a scenario “is not very realistic for at least three reasons,” according to Alan I. Abramowitz, senior columnist for the Crystal Ball website of Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics.
First of all, political opponents — in particular, Hillary Clinton’s campaign — questioned Obama’s commitment to Israel in 2008. But Jewish voters still supported Obama in the general election at about the same rate they had supported other Democratic presidential candidates in recent elections. One poll showed that 78 percent of Jewish voters cast their ballots for Obama over John McCain.
Secondly, Jewish loyalty to the Democrats is based largely on the liberal views of most Jews on domestic policy issues, Abramowitz asserts.Between 1992 and 2008, 82 percent of Jewish voters interviewed in several surveys said they leaned toward the Democratic Party, compared to just 43 percent of all other white voters.
Jewish voters “hold solidly liberal views on a wide range of domestic policy issues, and especially on social issues such as abortion, that have undermined support for the Democratic Party among some of its traditional supporters,” Abramowitz writes.
Thirdly, the rightward tack of the Republican Party in recent years has made a significant shift of Jewish voters into the GOP camp highly unlikely.Moderate-to-liberal Republicans including Nelson Rockefeller in New York and Edward Brooke in Massachusetts regularly won a large share of the Jewish vote, but in today’s GOP “there are almost no liberals or moderates,” Abramowitz observes.
He concludes: “There is almost no chance that the ultimate victor in the Republican nomination contest will be able to significantly increase the GOP share of the Jewish vote beyond the relatively small minority of conservative Jews who have been voting for Republican candidates in recent years.
Sheech!

I shudder to think of another four more years of Obamanure!

  1. I’ve never understood what seems to me a very antithetical relationship between the majority of the Jewish population of this Country and the Democrat party. Perhaps it goes back to the Roosevelt myth that a couple of my uncles also believed in. On the other hand, we have those such as Mark Levin who is one of the most out spoken Talk Radio hosts against B.O. that I’ve listened to. I don’t know what it takes to make B.O. minions realize that they are also part of the plight.

  2. I never have either, JonBerg. I know that my grandparents (one in particular and my father) would vote DemocRAT if the devil himself were running (which he is, at this time.) I used to be a DemocRAT...then I learned to read. I learned to read when I was about six.

We had a Texas governor and United States senator by the name of Wilbert Lee (Pappy) O'Daniel back during the '40s and FDR's time. In '41, he beat out New Deal (short for communism) opponent Lyndon Baines Johnson. To make a long story short, in '48 Pappy gave it up and came back to Texas because, "there was only slight hope of saving America from the communists."

And you can call me crazy, but I swear JFK was killed so Johnson could get in and carry on what FDR (and others before him) started.

People called me crazy when I was talking about something like 9/11 was going to happen 10-12 years before it did. After 9/11, I had A WHOLE BUNCH of people come to me and say, "Well, you were right."

Obimbo has just "fast forwared" this thing.

  3. No, I don’t call you “crazy”! Furthermore I served on the USS Frontier AD-25, the destroyer tender for the USS Maddox and the USS Turner Joy; destroyers allegedly involved in the, so called, Gulf Of Tonkin incident, thus allowing LBJ to escalate the Viet Nam situation through the “Gulf Of Tonkin” resolution. I know of , at least, one problem with this: When the aforementioned destroyers came along side of us for routine repair/maintenance the crew members knew nothing of the, alleged, incident. The next day there was a “gag” order in place. My brother-in-law, who served as an Army supply officer in Nam, told me that the Johnson’s had significant holdings in Military Contracts for that effort! If you ask me, Jimmy Carter and B.O. embody incompetence LBJ, on the other hand, was the embodiment of pure EVIL!!!!
