Navy Corpsman Pressed On To Save Many Marines.

I’m taking a break from dissing the current Chief Idiot of the United States (CIOTUS,) to pay homage to MY heroes -- the United States Navy Hospital Corpsmen. For those that don’t know, the battlefield corpsmen serve alongside the United States Marine Corps and, without a doubt, gain more respect from the unit that they serve with than anyone I know of... at least, in my book!

By the way, ‘corps’ is pronounced ‘core’ -- NOT ‘corpse’, as the current CIOTUS is so fond of reading off his/her/its teleprompter.

Even though the Navy managed to lose ALL my shot records and I had to take ALL my shots over again (three months worth, in two days), I still have the utmost respect for Navy doctors. The good part of that deal was -- I don’t remember those five mile runs and forced marches while I was in Staging Battalion before shipping out for Viet Nam.

While I was in Nam, whatever disease it was that I contracted, never made it to my Service Record Book. All I know is, that after two days of puking my guts up, crap coming out the other end CONTINUOUSLY, the chills and fever and while still trying to stay in the field -- Gunny ordered me to sick bay. Doc gave me a couple of shots and some pills to take for a week, dutifully chewed my ass out for not getting to him sooner 'cause I could have DIED (at the time, death was looking pretty good) and I was back in the field by the next day.

Then, there was the time when I was running for a fighting hole at night during the rainy season, slipped and fell on my M60 machine gun and then my a-gunner fell on top of me. I hobbled around for a couple of days until Gunny AGAIN ordered me to sick bay. Doc gave me some salve to put on my hip and I was back in the field.

Okay. So, none of this ever made it to my SRB. At the time, we were all a little too busy to be ‘note taking’.

I tell all of this to make a point. It was our battlefield Corpsmen (ALL affectionately known as ‘Doc’, who kept us going.

This is from another post that I read on a daily basis. Robert Laplander of humanevents.com has been writing about Medal of Honor recipients from the Vietnam War for the past month.

The article in today’s post caught my eye because it was about a Navy Corpsman, the event happened three months before I would be there and Ingram was with Charlie, 1/7 in Quang Ngai Province -- a Marine unit and an area that I would become REALLY familiar with, more soon than later, in my tour of duty in Viet Nam.
Medal of Honor Roll Call: Robert R. Ingram
Ignoring his own safety, Navy Corpsman pressed on to save many Marines
It has been my honor to present these recipients from the Vietnam War this month. May we as Americans always remember that they went when asked, fought as instructed, and many are still among us today; living heroes, one and all. We wrap up the month with a Corpsman who not only was willing to give his last ounce for the Marines under his charge, but then -- incredibly -- was spared to see them live.
Though Ingram survived his ‘crowded hour’, his Medal wasn’t presented until July 10, 1998, when then-President Bill Clinton bestowed it during a ceremony in the White House, alongside twenty-four of the men Ingram served with. The delay of more than thirty years was attributed to ‘lost paperwork’.
Robert R. Ingram
Rank and organization:
Hospital Corpsman Third Class
Place and date: Quang Ngai Province, Republic of Vietnam, 28 March 1966
Entered service at: Clearwater, FL
Born: 20 January, 1945 Clearwater, FL
Citation:
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty while serving as Corpsman with Company C, First Battalion, Seventh Marines against elements of a North Vietnam Aggressor (NVA) battalion in Quang Ngai Province Republic of Vietnam on 28 March 1966.  Petty Officer Ingram accompanied the point platoon as it aggressively dispatched an outpost of an NVA battalion.  The momentum of the attack rolled off a ridge line down a tree covered slope to a small paddy and a village beyond.  Suddenly, the village tree line exploded with an intense hail of automatic rifle fire from approximately 100 North Vietnamese regulars.  In mere moments, the platoon ranks were decimated.  Oblivious to the danger, Petty Officer Ingram crawled across the bullet spattered terrain to reach a downed Marine.  As he administered aid, a bullet went through the palm of his hand.  Calls for “CORPSMAN” echoed across the ridge.  Bleeding, he edged across the fire swept landscape, collecting ammunition from the dead and administering aid to the wounded.   Receiving two more wounds before realizing the third wound was life-threatening, he looked for a way off the race of the ridge, but again he heard the call for corpsman and again, he resolutely answered.  Though severely wounded three times, he rendered aid to those incapable until he finally reached the right flank of the platoon.  While dressing the head wound of another corpsman, he sustained his fourth bullet wound.   From sixteen hundred hours until just prior to sunset, Petty Officer Ingram pushed, pulled, cajoled, and doctored his Marines.  Enduring the pain from his many wounds and disregarding the probability of his demise, Petty Officer Ingram’s intrepid actions saved many lives that day.  By his indomitable fighting spirit, daring initiative, and unfaltering dedications to duty, Petty Officer Ingram reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.

I started to crop out the other former Chief Idiot of the United States that’s in the picture with Ingram. I decided to leave him in to remind ourselves that there HAVE BEEN other Chief Idiots of the United States... just not as bad as the CIOTUS that we have now. I mean, it could have been Jimmy Carter!

I’ve never been in any danger of receiving the Medal of Honor... but, under the present Chief Idiot of the United States (and some of the past,) I would ask if the gardener -- or someone on the cleaning staff -- be allowed to do me the honors...

...or, just mail it to me.

Here’s to all the ‘Docs’ out there! God loves ya, Doc! -- and I DAMN SURE LOVE YA, DOC!

Semper Fi!

Obama’s Cabinet Does The Hokey Pokey.

The following is Lurita Doan’s column that was taken from today’s townhall.com. It’s in its entirety (with links, as it appeared) because it was just TOO GOOD to take bits and pieces from. The original didn’t have the cartoons. I added them to make it too, TOO GOOD.

Forget about Dancing with the Stars. If Americans want to see some really fancy footwork, just watch the senior members of the Obama Administration as they do the hokey pokey. The President is, perhaps, the greatest dancer of all as he constantly talks about his policy goals, waves it all about, only to take it all back as he turns himself around.
In May 2009, Secretary Chu put his hands all over the Solyndra loan which he said would be a model for what the government creation of “green” jobs. Chu attended the ground breaking with President Obama and cited Solyndra’s example in his speeches. Yet, now, with Solyndra’s mind-boggling profligacy, squandering $523 million in taxpayer money in less than two years and filing for bankruptcy protection, both Chu and Obama are eager to take their hands off as they shake them all about, blaming anyone other than themselves for the poor loan decision and the complete lack of oversight into the expenditure of the funds.
And, it seems Cabinet Secretary Steven Chu has cravenly decided to utilize a time-tested delaying tactic of sending a lower-ranking staffer, Jonathan Silver, the DoE loan guarantee officer to testify as he turns himself around.
Both the White House and the Department of Energy officials are being disingenuous and possibly duplicitous in their adamant denials of wrongdoing. For those who understand the process of approving, and scheduling presidential appearances, there can be no doubt that the White House was closely involved in the Solyndra deal-making.
Each week, executive branch agencies send a report to the White House informing the president (in absentia) of current and upcoming agency actions of note. Each week, executive branch agencies also notify the White House of potential activities at which they are requesting the president’s attendance, usually an agency event that highlights some aspect of the president’s management agenda, and usually providing the White House with several months’ advance notice.
Presidential visits are highly coveted events, highly desired by cabinet heads, because the president’s visit raises the profile of the agency and provides much coveted photo-ops for agency employees.
There is usually a good deal of back and forth discussions between Executive agency staffers, the Executive Agency White House Liaison and White House staffers regarding the type of event, the timing of the event and the substance of the event to ensure it warrants an appearance by the president.
All the facts in the president’s speech are reviewed (for example, the details verifying a loan mentioned in the speech) and signed off on by as many as 15 agency officials and even folks from OMB before the event is entered formally as a part of the president’s calendar. So, the likelihood that neither the White House, nor the leaders of DoE, were in any way knowledgeable or involved in the Solyndra loan deal is highly unlikely.

Sadly, Solyndra is but a recent example of Obama’s Cabinet officials’ skill with doing the hokey pokey. The Justice Department’s disastrous Operation Fast & Furious reveals a similar scenario -- an ill conceived, poorly executed idea that was hastily put into operation. And yet, after providing some 1200 assault weapons to Mexican cartels, which are now showing up in crimes and murders of American citizens, Americans once again see the Obama Administration shaking their hands and turning themselves about as they run for cover.
Then, there is the case of the SEC. What does it mean when Americans see Obama’s executive appointees at the SEC all hiring lawyers to represent themselves as evidence of gross conflicts of interest starts to pile up?

Of course, no one is quite as skilled at the hokey pokey as President Obama. A year ago, Obama promised support for Palestinian statehood, no doubt hoping he could take it back before anyone caught wise that he was just posturing. But predictably, the Palestinians did not fully understand Obama was just doing part of his dance, and we now face a diplomatic crisis that is costing American prestige.

President Obama has saved his best dance moves for the economic crisis. Obama tells us he is all about jobs, jobs, jobs, but then turns himself about trying to explain why his Administration has prevented Boeing from expanding operations in South Carolina, costing thousands of jobs in the process. Obama urges quick Senate approval of a set of Free Trade Agreements which everyone agrees would be beneficial, but, Obama never quite tells Americans that he will not approve any of the agreements unless the Congress approves yet another bailout of Unions.
Other favorite Obama hokey pokey moves include his claim that the stimulus would create millions of jobs and shrink unemployment to 8%. So too, was the claim that Obamacare would allow everyone to keep the healthcare insurance they currently have. Those claims were quickly pulled back and the Administration worked hard at obscuring the facts as they, once again, turned themselves about.

Perhaps, my personal favorite hokey pokey move, is watching Obama talk about the need for “a balanced plan” that calls for “shared sacrifice” and a need for millionaires and billionaires to “pay their fair share”. This move calls for lots [of] unusually skillful gyrations as Obama tells us that his bash-the-rich strategy is not really a craven example of class warfare. Obama also maintains that massive deficits requiring $100 billion dollar a month in loans can all be sustained indefinitely, so there really is no need to cut the expansive entitlement spending. In fact, Obama tells us entitlements can, and should, be expanded.

I usually end my posts with, “So much incompetency, so little time.” I’m going to add ‘corruption’ to it from now on... the two words, incompetency and corruption, define Obimbo and his ‘administration’ SO WELL!
President Obama puts his Left hand in, then takes his Left hand out; he does the hokey pokey and he twists himself around, and that’s what it’s all about!

Perry Pummels ‘President Zero’ In Latest Campaign Video.

All I can say is...YEEEEEEES!

Texas governor and Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry released an epic video this morning, attacking President Obama for his lack of leadership and mishandling of the economy.
At one point in the video, the montage of news clips call President Obama ‘President Zero.’
Perry, who announced his candidacy at the RedState Gathering in Charleston, S.C. has seen a meteoric rise in the polls, and actually leads former Massachusetts govenor Mitt Romney in today’s Rasmussen Reports poll of Likely GOP voters by a 28%-24% margin.
The Michael Bay-esque video titled ‘Proven Leadership’, may look familiar to students of viral political videos and that’s because, according to POLITICO, the video was created by Lucas Baiano, the former video maestro for Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty. Before Pawlenty dropped out of the race, his videos were seen as his strongest asset, and with Baiano jumping over to Perry, expect the Texan to keep producing these very well done and inspiring videos.

Post continues @ humanevents.com

YEEEEEEES! It's about time we got somebody to go to DC that's got a Man Card.

Actually, Perry is being much too kind in calling Obimbo 'President Zero.'  I can think of a WHOLE LOT of other descriptions for the nappy-headed little girl.

Let’s Party Like It’s 1917.

Erick Erickson’s post in REDSTATE this morning hits the X ring. His headline (Let’s Party Like It’s 1917) and the description of the DNC’s logo for the 2012 convention as being ‘Soviet chic,’ couldn’t be more accurate.

When the Soviet Union disintegrated in 1991, I had a feeling of, ‘So what? There’ll just be another faction to take its place.’ It’s just that I wasn’t expecting it to be the good ol’ US of A’s Democratic party. I don’t know why not. The Democratic party has been leaning that way for... oooh, some say since about since LBJ (may he rot in hell.) I say for at least the last 60-70 years -- maybe longer. Obimbo came in and double-timed the movement and shook America to the core. For some, it was a ‘Duuh’ moment. For others, it was the classic ‘I’ve-been-trying-to-tell-you-so!’ moment.

With Barack Obama’s class warfare speech yesterday, it seems the President’s 2012 campaign theme will be to party like its 1917. In a speech right out of a European socialist’s playbook, Barack Obama kept referring to basic fairness when demanding job creators pay more in taxes. Consider Obama’s online mouthpiece, Think Progress, rushing to his defense by, in essence, saying Obama’s plan isn’t class warfare because it does not go as far as the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1929.
You actually should read the Think Progress post because actually what the writer claims is “strikingly different from a modern progressive agenda” is actually pretty darn similar, including an income tax to confiscate capital income -- something Obama’s Buffett tax seems to do.
In any event, what Barack Obama nor any other leftist can answer is one simple question -- when the top 1% generate 20% of the income and pay 40% of the taxes in this country, what exactly is their fair share?
But now it gets even worse. Yesterday I told you Obama wants to use General Motors as a distraction from Solyndra. Today it appears he is using Warren Buffett to distract us from raiding banks to line General Motors’ pockets, or at least the government’s because of the GM bailout.
In Barack Obama’s deficit plan, he intends to raid American banks to make up the losses from the auto bailout. There’s just one problem. While hiding behind TARP to justify this raid, with costs that will be passed on to consumers, Obama is punishing the most successful banks putting them in a position to fail. At the same time, the Dodd-Frank bill guarantees no bank is too big to fail, so he is creating another bank bailout situation.
Basically, the President wants to raise fees on banks with more than $50 billion in assets, i.e. the most successful banks. The weak banks that benefited the most from TARP will not actually be the ones to cover the auto bailout’s losses. The rich banks that needed the least help will shell out to cover the auto bailout and then find themselves among the ranks of weak banks.
It’s not just individual wealth redistribution the President is championing here. He’s picking winners and losers in the free market and ensuring that some of the winners he does not like are forced to become losers. It’s corporate wealth redistribution to corporations the President picks.
Considering both the inflation the American people are experiencing and the taxation Barack Obama wants to impose, you’d be forgiven for thinking he said “The way to crush the bourgeoisie is to grind them between the millstones of taxation and inflation.” Of course, that was Vladimir Lenin. Too inflammatory for you? Just go back to Think Progress and consider, in their claims that Obama’s position is too mild to be considered class warfare, just how similar Barack Obama’s new tax schemes are to the Communist Party of Great Britain in 1929 -- complete with a “graduated income tax to confiscate capital income”, i.e. a necessary component of any surtax on millionaires just for the sake of taxing millionaires.
Actually, I think Obimbo may be the Socialists/Marxists/Democrats own worst enemy. The Democrats were doing pretty good while the rest of us were too busy WORKING and trying to make a living. We were ‘asleep.’ Obimbo, by fast-forwarding everything, opened our eyes to what was really going on and stirred the sleeping giant. At least, I HOPE the rest of us are the sleeping giant.

Like I said, Erickson’s post hits the X ring. Speaking of X rings and targets, that’s exactly what I’ve found the Demonics logo useful for... target practice. Thanks, Demonics! I knew that if you REALLY put your mind to it, you could come up with SOMETHING useful.

On another note, I had a post (My Ambition While Obimbo Is...WHATEVER he is) about how your liberal ‘friends’ can rat you out on Obimbo’s very own AttackWatch new Web site (may God help you, if you do have liberal ‘friends’ -- and, then, I gotta ask you...“WHY?!”) I have to give credit to FORGER - Racist TEAhadi for putting me on to this ‘cause Hitler REALLY puts Obimbo’s AttackWatch where it belongs... IN THE TRASH!

My Ambition While Obimbo Is...

... WHATEVER he is, is to make his newly launched web site... ATTACK WATCH.

Attack Watch is Obimbo’s answer to the Nixon era of the 'enemies list.' Yep, it’s a site designed to ‘fight the smears’ against the ‘president’ (you don’t know HOW HARD IT IS for me to use the term, ‘president.’)

Attack Watch was first brought to my attention by, none other than, FORGER - Racist TEAhadi. Thanks, FORGER! (By the way, FORGER’S web site is... uhhh... probably X rated by some. Aw hell, I’ll give him XXX! So, consider yourself warned.)

Attack Watch is a site where any liberals that you might know, can rat you out.

Actually it’s a pretty neat site ‘cause it’s FUN to play with. You can go to Attack Watch.com and leave all kinds of messages and links -- that link back to the idiot and his staffs’ pages. However, like what's said below, irony is lost on these people.

The way I did it was to give ‘em the site that was smacking Obimbo ( I used his own, “http://www.barrackobama.com”) and below it the message, “You know how you know Obimbo is lying? His lips are moving... the site is full of lies!!” Then I put Obimbo’s email address (comment@whitehouse.gov) where it says “Your email address.”

Here are some testimonials and other creative ways to do it:

I logged in and reported myself for telling the truth about the SCOAMF. I am waiting for further instruction... @ http://tiny.cc/attackwatch2
BTW, Irony is lost on these people... http://tiny.cc/kte1r
(Note from M4e: you’ll have to go to FORGER’S site to see what SCOAMF means. But, you GOTTA go to the above links... they’re great.
I told them I touch myself while thinking of Frank Marshall Davis. No sign of the black helicopters yet, but I’m hopeful.
The Daily Caller is one of 19 accounts -- and only one of seven news organizations -- followed by Attack Watch on Twitter.
The first seven Twitter accounts followed by Attack Watch were people or offices associated with the White House or Obama’s reelection campaign. The next two, in order, are Drudge Report and The Daily Caller.
I really, REALLY want to be in that number!

Hey... I think I hear a black helicopter touching down in the front pasture!

Memorials Set As Former Marine Gets Medal Of Honor.

I’ll make this short and sweet.
President Barack Obama will bestow the medal at a White House ceremony. The two have also met privately, having a beer on a patio outside the Oval Office on Wednesday.
“Over the weekend, the President’s staff called Meyer in preparation for Thursday’s Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House. Meyer asked the staffer if he could have a beer with the President. POTUS invited Dakota to come by the White House this afternoon,” spokesman Jay Carney tweeted.
Full story at foxnews.com.
This is the second Medal of Honor to be bestowed on members of our fighting forces during the Obimbo administration regime. While I can’t speak for Sgt. Giunta, USA, who was the first recipient -- evidently, I can’t speak for Sgt. Dakota Meyer, USMC, either. Sgt. Meyer ASKED to have a beer with the Commander in Chief Idiot in Chief.

I’ve ALWAYS maintained that, were I still in uniform, I would follow orders -- without question -- from my lowest superior NCO up to the Commandant of the Marine Corps. The line would stop with CiC IiC Obimbo. If Obimbo were to ask to shake my hand, I would look him square in the eyes, spit in his face, do a smart about-face and march myself to the nearest brig to do my 20 years at hard labor... and enjoy every minute of it knowing that I got to do it!

Too bad the Medal of Honor had to be desecrated by -- NOT my CiC IiC -- Obamanure. Frankly, had I been Sgt. Giunta or Sgt. Meyer, I would have asked if the gardener -- or someone on the cleaning staff -- be allowed to do me the honors.

If not, then just mail it to me.

Obama's Scripture Reading Turns My Stomach.

I didn't watch the Sunday 9/11 dedication ceremony. Purposely. I KNEW it was going to be about Obimbo. Evidently, I wasn’t disappointed.

During the ceremony, my wife came in to tell me that Obimbo was quoting scriptures from the Bible. I told her that he wasn’t quoting scriptures -- he may be READING them off the teleprompters, but he sure wasn’t QUOTING them and that he wouldn’t know the Bible from a Bugs Bunny comic book.

Later, I passed through the room where she had the TV on. By this time she had muted the TV. She's pretty tolerant so that should tell you something.

As I passed by the screen, all I could see was this smug, holier-than-thou, smirking face taking up three quarters of the image space. She was working on her laptop and not paying any attention. I stood there for couple of seconds watching this narcissistic, condescending idiot and said what I always say when numb nuts is on -- "One day, I’m gonna take my shotgun and blow the living hell outta it when he’s on!" She didn't even look up. She’s gotten used to me saying that. But, ONE DAY...

I'll let someone else take it from here. This describes it so much better -- mainly, because this person sat through it.

I watched the 9/11 dedication ceremony on Sunday and got sick to my stomach when President Obama started reading Scripture.  I wanted to shout out: HYPOCRITE!  FAKE!  and FRAUD!
I'm sure you’re all familiar with the saying, 'actions speak louder than words'. Since taking office, Obama's actions have been overtly anti-Christian and pro-Muslim. He professes to be a Christian, yet everything he says and does is Muslim.
On top of his Muslim affinity, his lack of sincerity also came through as he stood before the crowd.  He had that typical smug Obama look as if to say, 'hey everybody, look at me and what I’m doing'. Michelle Obama was at his side with an equally smug look on her face as she absorbed all of the attention.
On the flip side, you could see the emotions on the faces of former President George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush, as she wiped tears from her eyes.
The difference between the two couples was so obvious that no one could miss it. Besides, what did Obama do for the 9/11 victims and families of victims other than support the building of a mosque next to the site where Muslim terrorists murdered their loved ones?
I was so glad when the coverage of the ceremony ended and I no longer had to view the arrogance of the Obamas and listen to any more of his hypocrisy.
The only problem I have with the article is, “He professes to be a Christian, yet everything he says and does is Muslim.” I don’t think that’s right. Not the part about his professing to be a Christian... he’s no more a Christian than I am a tree frog. It’s the Muslim part. I don’t believe he’s Muslim, either -- if that’s what’s being eluded to. He ALIGNS himself with Muslims because it’s in his best interests.
He was raised by a mother with no faith, mentored, according to Dreams from my Father, by communist-atheist Frank Marshall Davis. His earliest work was with radical-anti-God- Alinsky community organizers who counseled him to join a church if ever he expected to make progress in the Black Community.  It would seem to many then, that as a means to an end, he spent twenty years at Jeremiah Wright’s Church, supporting all forms of abortion and homosexual rights, listening to Louis Farrakhan’s hate-filled rhetoric, praised by the adulterous, flamboyant, Pastor Wright.
As far as religion... I’m more than convinced that he has none. Well, other than "Narcissism."

But HERE’S the REAL kicker:

In spite of pleas by Christian and Jewish clergy, Mayor Michael Bloomberg steadfastly refused to allow those who had brought spiritual comfort during the 9/11 tragedy to participate in the ten year Memorial at Ground Zero. The Mayor hadn't always felt that way. His first inclination was to include Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Muslim Imam who fought to build a Mosque at Ground Zero. But since the outcry against that was great, the Mayor decided to eradicate all expressions of faith, including prayers.
"Rather than have disagreements over which religious leaders participate, we would like to keep the focus of our commemoration ceremony on the family members of those who died," Bloomberg spokeswoman, Evelyn Erskine told AP.
I wish I could have seen Bloomberg’s face when Obimbo started salivating with words from the Christian Bible and quoted, "The God of Jacob is our fortress."
The God of Jacob? The God of Jacob is not Allah or Buddha or the Hindu Monkey God. He is the God of Jews and Christians....
President Obama has told us on more than one occasion, we’re no longer a Christian nation. "We are also a Jewish nation, a Muslim nation, and a Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation, and a nation of nonbelievers."
He even instructed his staff to cover a cross at Catholic Georgetown, so it wouldn’t hang behind him as he spoke. But in a strong voice at Ground Zero, he assured the bereaved audience, "The God of Jacob is our fortress." It’s a good thing Feisal Abdul Rauf was not on the platform.
Barack Obama surely knew Mayor Bloomberg had banned expressions of faith. Did he read this Biblical passage to fill a necessary void? Did he read it out of strong personal conviction that the God of Jacob should be exalted above all Gods? Or did he do it because it was a perfect twist at an opportune time to get his slumping poll numbers up in a huge constituency from which he needs support?
My money goes on “because it was a perfect twist at an opportune time to get his slumping poll numbers up in a huge constituency from which he needs support.”

That, and his Obimbonistic “I’ll show you that I can do anything I want to do!” narcissistic, condescending, nappy-headed little self.

But, I guess I’ll have to admit that God DID speak that day, and through a most UNLIKELY source.

The kiddin' part of it is, that unlikely source -- with his nappy little head -- is probably still wondering, "Uuuh... whaaat happened?!" All of which goes to prove...

The Lord DOES work in mysterious ways.

Maybe It’s Time For A ‘C Student’ For President.

I can really relate to this! All of this (and more... except the editorial cartoons... I ALWAYS gotta add the cartoons!) is from godfatherpolitics.com. Even the headline! (Hey... if it don't need fixin, don't fix it.)
The Uber-Liberal Daily Kos website has published Texas governor Rick Perry’s college transcripts. ... Perry was no scholar at Texas A&M University. He was a C student. Liberals see this as a disqualification for a presidential candidate. At least we have the governor’s transcripts. The same can’t be said for the sitting president idiot in charge* whose college and law school transcripts have not been made public.
A person’s grades are not always determinative of what he or she does in life. There are lots of C students who have gone on to do great things and lots of A students who have been miserable failures. Liberals are notorious for pushing how smart a candidate is. Barack Obama Obimbo* is said to be one of our smartest presidents. If he the idiot* is so smart, then why is he the idiot* spending money we don’t have? Why can’t he the idiot* fix the economy? It’s very easy to do. It wouldn’t take me more than 15 minutes to lay out a strategy, and I didn’t go to Harvard Law School.
The best educational job I ever had was working in a hardware store. I learned how to cut glass, thread pipe, make concrete slabs, drive a dump truck, run a Bobcat, mix paint, and a thousand and one other things. One day a frustrated woman came into the store holding some mangled plumbing fixtures. Her scholar husband couldn’t hammer a nail, fix a plumbing leak, or do typical handyman repairs. I know a lot of really smart people who know little about economics, and what they think they know are the very things that are destroying our economy.
This debate over college grades and governmental competency reminded me of David Halberstam’s 1972 book The Best and the Brightest. “The focus of the book is on the foreign policy crafted by the academics and intellectuals who were in John F. Kennedy’s administration, and the consequences of those policies in Vietnam.” The phrase “the best and the brightest” referred to President Kennedy’s “‘whiz kids’ -- leaders of industry and academia brought into the Kennedy administration -- whom Halberstam characterized as arrogantly insisting on ‘brilliant policies that defied common sense’ . . .” These so-called intellectuals got us into Vietnam, got more than 58,000 Americans and 1.5 million Vietnamese killed, and couldn’t get us (out)*. The iconic scene of people desperately trying to escape by helicopter is a fitting image of what the “best and the brightest” got us into.
Perry got a D in economics. Good for him. It was most likely Keynesian Economics, one of the most boring and convoluted courses ever devised by academia.
Given what academics from Harvard, Yale, and other Ivy Leaguers have done to our nation, I think a C student should have a shot at the presidency. All he has to do is follow directions. It’s all written out in the Constitution. There are some other basics. Stop sending our best and brightest young people to fight wars that never end. Stop spending money you don’t have. Don’t steal from some people so you can give it to other people so they will vote for you. Don’t try to create money out of nothing. It’s immoral and it doesn’t work. Who’s more right about Social Security, the media “intellectuals” or Gov. Perry who knows that it’s a Ponzi scheme and isn’t afraid to say so?
I am not endorsing Mr. Perry. Having said this, I will not sit back and let the Left set the agenda for what constitutes a good candidate. If you don’t like Perry, then deal with policy issues and not his grades from more than 20 years ago.
*There, I fixed it.

Funny thing about it is, I have a friend that I went to junior high and high school with. After we graduated from high school, he joined the Navy, did his hitch, came back home and started a business -- and became a millionaire. He did it with a high school education.

I have another friend that I went to junior high and high school with. After graduating from high school, he went to work on drilling rigs in the oil fields like I did. Tom (not his real name) was working for a major oil company and they saw some potential in him so they sent him to LSU (what they saw in me was a damn good roughneck and I showed up sober most of the time.) Anyway, he got his degree and was making GOOD money as a drilling superintendent and worked all over the world.

One day, while Tom was back in our West Texas home town for a visit, he was approached by a down and out friend of ours. Jack (not his real name) was a really close friend to Tom but he didn’t get to graduate from high school with us. Jack had a wife and three kids and was out of work. Jack asked Tom for a job. Tom told him he wouldn’t give him a job but that he WOULD loan him several thousand dollars to start a business of his own. Jack reminded Tom that he didn’t even have a high school education, but Tom told him that it didn’t matter... that he knew a lot of people who had made it without that much education and he believed that Jack could, too.

Long story, short -- Jack DID succeed. As a matter of fact, he became a millionaire -- a multi-millionaire (I know that doesn’t sound like much -- not when we’ve been conditioned to speak in TRILLIONS -- but it was a lot of money at that time.) In the process, Tom had made A LOT OF MONEY off the payback that he and Jack had agreed on at the beginning. Tom retired at age 35 from the major oil company, threw in with Jack and Jack MADE TOM a millionaire. Both of ‘em, at age 40, had memberships in country clubs in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Oklahoma so they could play golf wherever they were at the time.

So, let’s repeat that -- “If you don’t like Perry, then deal with policy issues and not his grades from more than 20 years ago.”

I Would Have Really Liked This Guy.

In lieu of flowers...
This was in the Rome, GA News Tribune. It just doesn’t get any better than this!
Thanks, JB, for passing this along. I’m saving it and passing it on to my next of kin. I want them to know what my final request is, should I kick off while that nappy headed little girl is in office.

9/11 Remembered.

Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended.

'The Speech'... Why Waste Bandwidth?

At first, I wasn't even going to waste the bandwidth to do a post on 'The Speech.'

"How can you comment on something you DIDN'T EVEN WATCH," you ask?

Simple. It doesn't take a mental giant to figure out the path The Chosen One's BS is going to take you on.

Apparently (from everything that I've had to hear, read and see,) Obimbo -- ONCE AGAIN -- lived up to my expectations BEYOND my wildest dreams.

Mickey Kaus, a Democrat pundit who ran against Boxer in the last election wrote this
... he achieved the rare, magical combination of seeming desperate and condescending at the same time.
I left a comment about 'The Speech' on the Living The Grand Life blog. You can read it there.

Or, you can read it here:
I realize that $447 billion isn't much (not when you put 14 trillion next to it)... and we'll just pay it back in ten years... (say it real fast and you'll never notice it) but what about the $862 billion stimulus program for jobs in 2010? That one averaged out to be $278,000 for each job that WASN'T created and that money is GONE.
Poof.
Just like that -- GONE -- with nothing to show for it (except, now, we OWE SOMEBODY a LOT of MONEY.) Now, ANOTHER $447 billion to see if THIS one will work?
Other than being about half of what was shoved down a rat hole the first time, what's the difference?

For me, the lyrics to an old Jerry Jeff Walker song keep coming to mind about Obimbo and his administration... "I've been taken again."

In Anticipation Of ‘The Speech’... Part 2

Ending with... TAAA-DAAAH!

Obimbo Bingo Game For 'The Speech'.

Like I said before, I won’t be watching ‘The Speech’; hearing the 'same old - same old' wore thin a loooong time ago, I’m not that in to Bingo, I have better things to do (sort my sock drawer or -- as JonBerg suggested -- clean my toilet bowl) and I don’t want to give a viewership point on my cable/satellite/coal oil lantern.

This has been around FOREVER... now it seems to be REALLY appropriate. I gotta give credit where credit is due for this thing.

Here is something to help make Obama’s Obimbo’s* speech almost tolerable. Just print out this page, distribute it to friends, and listen... (be sure to read directions at the bottom)
 Rules for Bullshit Bingo:
  • Before Barrack Obama’s Obimbo’s* next televised speech, print your “Bullshit Bingo”
  • Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases.
  • When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout “BULLSHIT!” [or shout out “PELOSI” (means the same thing)]
Testimonials from past satisfied “Bullshit Bingo” players:
“I had been listening to the speech for only five minutes when I won.” - Jack W., Boston
“My attention span during speeches has improved dramatically.” - David D.,   Florida
“What a gas! Speeches will never be the same for me after my first win.” - Bill R., New York City
“The atmosphere was tense in the last speech as 14 of us waited for the fifth box.” - Ben G., Denver
“The speaker was stunned as eight of us screamed “BULLSHIT!” for the third time in two hours.”

(*There... I fixed it for ‘em.)

For those of you who DO have the stomach for it -- BINGO!

In Anticipation Of ‘The Speech’...

Here’s are some little somethings to warm you up -- for those of you holding your bated breath.

I plan on doing something constructive instead of watching ‘The Speech'... my sock drawer needs rearranging.
